Late Saxon West Tower, 12th Century porch, original long lancet windows at east end.
Originally Saxon, though much that remains today is 13th C rebuilding. Also rebuilt in the 19th C. Of note are two fragments of two Saxon cross shafts and fragments of medieval cross slabs. Also the gravestone of Thomas Bewick, wood engraver. A new peel of 8 Bells was installed in the Saxon Tower in January 2012.
